Boy George claims ITV planted questions in people’s minds on Im A Celebrity

I'm A Celeb: Boy George is eliminated from the jungle

Boy George has claimed that ITV “planted questions in people’s minds” during his time on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! to fit certain narratives.

The singer appeared on the ITV reality show last year alongside other famous faces such as former footballer Jill Scott and comedian Seann Walsh. He became the fourth celebrity to be voted out of the jungle.

However, he has since discussed his experience in his new book named Karma: My Autobiography.

The 62-year-old claimed that whilst he was on the show, people behind the scenes encouraged the celebrities to question other campmates about personal subjects with “planted questions”.

He wrote, as reported by The Mirror: “Scarlette [Douglas] upset me when she asked about my court case and prison.

“The question was casually and thoughtlessly posed out of the blue interrupting a terse conversation between me and Matt [Hancock].

“At the time it felt like she had been told to ask the question. She had no idea of the facts and it upset me. ITV will insist they do not instruct conversations but they plant questions in people’s minds. I was even asked to talk to Jill [Scott] about being gay.” has contacted ITV for comment.

Elsewhere in his book, the Culture Club singer also revealed that the drinking water in the camp was “hideous” and that campmates really are made to collect it from a pump at the bottom of a hill.
