AceShowbiz -K-pop superstars BTS (Bangtan Boys), actress Sandra Oh, and TV personality and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen are among the Asian stars honoured on the 2019 A100 List.
Director Jon M. Chu and many of the stars of his hit film “Crazy Rich Asians“, including Michelle Yeoh, Henry Golding, Gemma Chan, and Awkwafina are also featured on the second annual release, as are actors Mindy Kaling, Harry Shum Jr., Daniel Dae Kim, John Cho, and Steven Yeun.
Others included are filmmaker James Wan and his “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa, Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), comedians Hasan Minhaj and Ali Wong, actress Lilly Singh, singer/songwriter H.E.R. (Gabi Wilson), fashion designer Phillip Lim, and organising consultant and TV star Marie Kondo.
The A100 List, compiled by officials at non-profit collective Gold House, is designed to celebrate the achievements of Asians and Asian-American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs), and their contributions to society.
For the first time, each of the honourees have also been invited to vote for the single most impactful star from the past year from those listed on the A100, with the winner unveiled at the end of May, which is also Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
They will all be saluted at a trio of upcoming galas in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, California.
