EastEnders stars Adam Woodyatt and Jake Wood had a surprise reunion at King's Cross train station in London on Monday, 2 August.

Taking to Instagram, the two actors, who play Ian Beale and Max Branning in the BBC One soap respectively, revealed they had accidentally bumped into each other.

Adam, 53, and Jake, 49, both shocked fans when they left Albert Square earlier this year as their characters made dramatic exits from Walford.

Away from EastEnders, they looked surprised and delighted to bump into each other in central London.

Adam captioned his selfie with Jake: "Small world!! Bumped into @mrjakewood at Kings Cross."

Fans were just as thrilled to see the former co-stars together in real life, with one person commenting: "EE is not the same without you guys"

Someone else wrote: "I'm telling Rainie where to find him."

Adam has said he is taking an extended break from EastEnders, where he is the longest-serving cast member with 36 years under his belt.

He left Walford in January after Sharon, who he was married to, tried to murder him, while Jake's character Max was last seen in February making an exit with baby Abi after a row with Linda and Mick.

Adam split from his wife of 22 years in 2020 and has since been living in a motorhome worth £93,000, while Jake has spent his months away from the soap working on his fitness.

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid was shocked by Adam's different look recently when he appeared as a guest on the show and she commented that she hardly recognised him.

Both Adam and Jake were showing off their new beards in their photo from Kings Cross as they made the most of being able to enjoy some time experimenting with different looks to their soap characters.

Adam is currently flexing his acting muscles in stage show Looking Good Dead and is not expected to return to EastEnders until 2022 at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Jake is also treading the boards in London's West End where he is starring in 2:22 – A Ghost Story alongside Lily Allen.
