GMBs Ben Shephard slammed as rude after cutting Kate Garraway off and telling her to be quiet

It seems the beautiful game has an ugly side as GMB presenter Ben Shephard tell his co-star to “be quiet” during a segment on the Qatar World Cup.

Dressed in a smart navy suit and burgundy tie, Ben had had an enjoyable morning discussing the highlight from yesterday’s matches.

However, the painfully awkward moment happened live on air as the host tried to explain the off-side rule, losing his temper in the process as Kate Garraway interrupted.

Though the pair are good friends off-screen, viewers could see Ben’s frustration as he discussed the last night’s game between Germany and Japan.

It was a match that saw Japan score a controversial late goal, ousting the German team from the tournament – much to the delight of England fans.

The 47 year old presenter tried canto explain this to his co-host Kate, who had been teasing her friend throughout the Good Morning Britain segment.

Despite the studio being decorated ready for Christmas, there wasn’t much festive cheer to be had as Ben lost his temper in a sudden outburst.

"Please be quiet for a second." He told Kate.

Folding her arms over her chest, the presenter looked momentarily taken aback before laughing as she replied: "Well nobody told me that."

Rather aptly, Kate wore a crimson coloured suit as her co-host saw red.

The usually mild manner Ben tried to gain his composure despite the giggles from his colleagues. However, it wasn’t long before panellist Jacqui Smith also began to talk over the host.

Viewers could hear Ben shout: “Jacqui, stop it, don’t encourage her.”

Trying to continue with the explanation, the Tipping Point host tried to show what had occurred during last night’s match.

As the camera showed the usually clean desk, Ben used a ball and gaffer tape to demonstrate but quickly ran out of room.

"Oh, move those papers, woman." He snapped, pushing the scripts toward Kate.

Former I'm A Celeb star Kate quipped that she didn’t agree to this, as she rapidly move things out of the way.

Although the pair immediately laughed the incident off, not all were so easily swayed.

In fact, some viewers at home found the exchange to be incredibly rude as well as sexist.

Brenda Kelly tweeted the host, demanding an apology for his rudeness. The user went as far asking the TV host who he thought he was, after the incident.

Another user, Rebecca Knight called Ben "disrespectul" and "sexist" for interrupting his colleague on so many occassions. She added that was "disgusted" with the host.

Others could see that the presenter was teasing his friend and colleague Kate, with user Mrs Lingard saying that she "loves" them both – calling the moment "hilarious".

GMB viewers will undoubtedly be tunning in to see how Ben will cover the rest of the Qatar World Cup.
