Dame Helen Mirren looked incredible when she arrived at the 74th annual Cannes Film Festival. The 75-year-old actress wowed in a gorgeous yellow gown as she walked the red carpet on the first day of the prestigious event.

Helen was a vision in her figure-hugging frock, which nipped in at the waist to showcase her slim figure.

Layers of chiffon fabric created movement in the skirt of her Dolce and Gabbana dress, as she strutted her stuff on the red carpet like a pro.

She teamed her dress with coordinated heels and a designer handbag.

Statement jewellery composed of diamonds and contrasting green gems completed her glamorous look.

Helen swept her hair into a stylish up ‘do and enhanced her natural good looks with elegant make-up and a slick of pink lipstick.

She posed for pictures at the star-studded event with her husband Taylor Hackford, who looked dapper in a blue suit and bow tie.

The English movie star was there to attend the screening of upcoming release Annette, a musical starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard.

She was later joined by actresses Andie MacDowell, 63, and Iris Berben, 70.

The stars of the show were also at the opening ceremony.

Marion, 45, shimmered and sparkled as she arrived in a metallic silver dress.

The French actress wore her dark tresses loose and styled in an elegant side parting and wore minimal make-up to let her one-shoulder design do the talking.

The Star Wars actor opted for a classic black tuxedo.

Thankfully, the famous film festival was able to take place this year, albeit a little later than planned, after last year’s event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It was due to take place in May but was pushed back to the summer.

It will run from now until July 17.

Helen was most recently seen in F9, the latest instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise starring Vin Diesel, as Dominic Toretto and Michelle Rodriguez as his wife Letty Ortiz.

She played Magdalene “Queenie” Shaw, the mother of Owen and Deckard, Dom’s former enemies.

The blockbuster also stars Kurt Russell and Charlize Theron.

The actress, who is showing no signs of slowing down, is also working on two upcoming films – White Bird: A Wonder Story and superhero flick Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
