Hilarious celebrity reactions to Mike Pence's fly hair

So last night, amid the debate between US Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris, a fly was what stole the world’s attention – and the likes of Avengers star Chris Evans and Star Wars legend Mark Hamill were keen to have a giggle at the moment.

Yes, a little, tiny fly was our main takeaway from the very important political event, with the insect landing on Mike’s head as he answered a question.

Perhaps most perplexing, Pence had no reaction to his new barnet mate, and went on his merry way defending President Donald Trump against accusations he supports white supremacism.

It took mere moments before Twitter noticed and ‘the fly’ began trending like mad, with someone being ever so quick and savvy as to set up ‘the fly’ with its own parody account. Some have even suggested Jeff Goldblum should voice the fly in a series.

So of course the celebrity world was, er, buzzing at the opportunity to bring some meme action to proceedings.

Hamill tweeted a lengthy statement while sharing an article to the moment, writing on Twitter: ‘He consistently went over his allotted time, ignored questions he didn’t like while asking questions of his own, condescendingly “Pencesplained” so a woman could understand, tried to defend the indefensible & still, a fly got all the headlines!’

Captain America himself Chris Evans re-tweeted his brother Scott, who wrote: ‘Flies love bullsh*t.’

Certainly an apt move from Chris, seeing as he did not take to Trump’s recent comments on Covid-19.

Actor Patton Oswalt chimed in with his own take: ‘EWWWWWWWWW that fly has Mike Pence on his stomach.’

Stephen King may have penned some of the most terrifying novels, however even he thought this was a chance to have a giggle: ‘Hey waiter! I’ll have the soup. Mike Pence will have some sh*t for his fly.’

Keke Palmer was ripe with the zinger, as she tweeted: ‘I’m not saying he’s an alien but I never seen a bug sit so comfortably on anyone since Men In Black.’

Riffing on Trump’s statement, after leaving hospital following his positive test for Covid-19, Colin Hanks added: ‘I am so happy to see that Mike Pence didn’t let that fly dominate his life. He didn’t live in fear. Maybe he’s immune? I don’t know.’

All the while Charlamagne Tha God wondered if the Illuminati was alive and kicking: ‘What if a forked tongue would have came out of Mike Pence’s mouth to eat that fly??’

Yes, even Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden came to laugh:

Where the fly will land in the race still remains to be seen.
