Im A Celebs Richard Madeley says Susanna Reid will fall about laughing at him on show

Richard Madeley has opened up on why he thinks his Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid will "fall about laughing" while watching him on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

The 65 year old is just one of the famous faces heading into Wales' Gwrych Castle to face a number of Bushtucker Trials this winter.

Days before he headed into isolation before starring on the hit ITV show, Richard was confirmed as Piers Morgan's replacement on the breakfast show after the controversial host sensationally quit in March.

Speaking exclusively to OK! about what he thinks Susanna will make of him in the castle, Richard said: "I think she'll fall about laughing and will think it's the funniest thing.

"I really like Susanna and she's a straight talker. If I screw up or make an idiot of myself, she will tell me when I come back!

"Not in a nasty way though. I am sure she will enjoy watching me eat rabbit penis!"

Earlier this week, Richard's GMB co-stars joked his fellow campmates "won't get a word in edgeways" during their trip to the castle with the veteran broadcaster.

He sent a video into the show from isolation, saying: "God, it's boring. I'd welcome any trial, just something to do. I just want to get started.

"Why we have to wear jungle boots in the castle, I can't guess. Unless it's to keep the rats out. There are ghosts as well in the castle, that'll be fun."

Susanna said to regular panellist Kevin Maguire: "What were you saying Kevin that they won't be able to get a word in edgeways? He was interviewing himself there."

Ed Balls, who has been filling in for Richard during his time in isolation, quipped: "You could see the fear couldn't you. Behind his eyes, the tension."

Richard previously spoke about the lack of advice he had received from his son-in-law James Haskell, who starred on the show in 2019.

He said: "James hasn't given me any advice, because as he pointed out, it would be useless.

"It will be a different camp, and I plan to just take each day as it comes."

I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! starts Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
