Love Island's Mary Bedford has joked that "tears were shed" over her mermaid costume during the heart rate challenge last month.
The 22 year old was answering questions from her 660K Instagram followers during a candid Q&A session where she was asked how she felt about wearing the ensemble on the ITV2 dating show.
As part of the heart rate challenge, the Islanders had to wearing racy ensembles and perform a dance in a bid to raise each other's heart rates.
At the time, Mary's friends and viewers slammed show producers for putting the contestant in a "bargain bin mermaid costume".

Mary's best mate, former Coronation Street actress Arianna Ajtar, also took to Twitter to share her frustrations, writing: "Mary had the potential to have been one of the best love islands heart race challenge looks ever done and instead they made my friend look like she’s gone into luvyababes blindfolded & took the first outfit she could."
Earlier this week, Mary was asked by one of her followers: "How did you really feel about the mermaid fancy dress?"
To which she replied with: "This meme sums up how I feel about that mermaid outfit. Tears were definitely shed lol" followed by crying laughing emojis.
In the meme shared, it showed a screengrab of Mary in the costume with the caption: "My sleep paralysis demonds #LoveIsland."
Mary added on her post: "I’m here all day long for the memes though, I’m glad it provided entrainment for you guys," followed by more crying laughing emojis.
It comes after Mary candidly broke her silence on the devastating reason behind her split from Aaron Simpson.
The stunning influencer called time on her romance with the professional footballer a few days after exiting the villa and has now finally explained why.
Taking to Instagram, the model admitted that after finding out that her grandmother had passed away during her time on the show, her "head was all over the place", and all she wanted to do was be home with loved ones.
When asked in a Q&A why they split, Mary penned: "Coming out of the villa and finding out about the news of my grandmother completely threw me."
Mary continued: "I've never lost anyone close to me, so it has been really hard for me to be honest.
"As a result of this, my head is all over the place, and all I knew is that I wanted to be back home surrounded by my loved one."
Mary added that despite their break-up, Aaron had been a shoulder to lean on during her tough times.
"Aaron is an amazing person who has been supportive about everything since we left the show, but right now, there is no pressure on us," she wrote.
"I will always be so grateful that we met as he's a massive part of my Love Island journey.

"But I'm focusing on getting my head back in the right headspace which is why I haven't been crazy active since coming out."
Hinting that her feelings for Aaron were still strong, Mary closed out her message by writing: "But who knows about the future."
This undoubtedly clears fans' confusion after Mary appeared to friendzone Aaron during their interview on AfterSun a few days after exiting the villa.
