Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen has turned telling the story of her life as a shepherdess on the family farm in North Yorkshire into a well-established business making an estimated £250,000 a year, it has been revealed.
Amanda and her husband Clive Owen , who recently admitted their marriage was going through a "rocky patch," are best known for starring in Channel 5's Our Yorkshire Farm and Amanda has built on the show's success by releasing five bestselling books about her family life on the working farm.
Amanda, 47, has set up her own firm called the Yorkshire Shepherdess Ltd to manage her business affairs and the company earns around £250,000 a year before costs and expenses are deducted, according to The Sun.
The company's latest accounts show that Amanda's business has a cash and assets surplus of £74,411 and the firm has a creditor in the form of a Corporation Tax bill to the tune of £36,456, which would give the company an estimated six-figure sum in yearly earnings.
Since 2015, Amanda has released five books about her life as a working shepherdess with the fifth, Celebrating the Seasons, being released this week.
Alongside her husband Clive, 66, she's also appeared on documentary series Our Yorkshire Farm since 2018, which gives an unfiltered look into the couple's life on the farm along with their nine children.
The couple recently confirmed they were going through a difficult patch in their marriage and said in a statement: "Just like any marriage we have our stresses and strains, coupled with all the complexities of what we do on the farm and bringing up nine kids."
They added: "We’re a normal family, and we’ve never said our marriage is perfect.
"Unfortunately the constant intrusion into our lives from the media has amplified a rocky patch that we’re going through."
Amanda and Clive have been married for 21 years and share nine children together: Raven, 20, Reuben, 17, Miles, 15, Edith, 12, Violet, ten, Sidney, nine, Annas, seven, Clemmie, five, and Nancy, four.
Outside of the TV series, the family also post regular updates of farm life to social media.
