BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, 44, has taken to Twitter to give an update on a member of his family. A week ago the newsreader told how his family dog Winnie had been injured and was struggling to walk. But after fans inundated Dan with messages, he took to Twitter to share an update on his pet pooch.
Winnie is a lot better thank you
In view of his 722,000 followers, Dan gave an update on Winnie’s health.
He stated: “For those who were asking…
“Winnie is a lot better thank you.
“Her back has healed nicely, she has her mojo back and she’s rocking a neckerchief,” he finished.
Dan also posted a sweet picture of his pooch sporting a blue checked neckerchief.
Last weekend the Strictly star told how Winnie had been sadly injured.
He explained: “Our Winnie has been in a lot of pain for a couple of weeks after injuring her back.
“We don’t know how she did it but she was struggling to walk.”
Thankfully Dan went on to reveal that the family dog was recovering after seeing a vet.
“We have given her a lot of love &, with a little help from travelling local vet Matt, she is on the mend & chasing squirrels again.”
Dan’s update comes as he travelled back home from London after his first day of training for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Earlier this month Dan told how it was “time to embrace the sequins” as he was confirmed for the star-studded line-up.
Following his news, viewers were questioning his absence on BBC Breakfast, after Louise Minchin had been hosting the show with other members of the presenting team, including Charlie Stayt and Ben Thompson.
But Dan finally broke his silence on his absence after one fan took the opportunity to ask when Dan would return to the famous red sofa.
They asked his co-star: “When is the lovely @mrdanwalker joining you again Louise?”
“Or is he having time off to train for @bbcstrictly?”
Louise reassured the viewer, revealing in response: “He will be back soon, don’t worry.”
Dan then spoke out on the situation himself, explaining he was making the most of spending quality time with his family.
He simply stated: “Back soon.”
Strictly Come Dancing is set to start again next month on BBC.
