Stacey Dooley, 34, is an acclaimed documentary filmmaker, who many viewers fell in love with when she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing. The star also found romance after the show with her dance partner Kevin Clifton, 38, although she has also admitted how it was “such a cliché”.
The pair won the 2019 series of the dancing competition together, before becoming a couple in early 2020.
While Stacey generally keeps her relationship with Kevin out of the spotlight, she has previously revealed how it all started.
Speaking on the BBC Headliners podcast back in March 2020, she said of her experience on the dancing show: “I met so many amazing people – one in particular.”
When pushed by host Nihal Arthanayake on whether she tried to resist the romance with Kevin at all, she joked how it was “such a cliché”.
Stacey continued: “I don’t want to be such a cliché, it’s so cringe.
“It’s so cheesy, isn’t it? It is. I want to be cooler than this, I want to be cooler.”
She went on to explain how they only began dating after the show had finished.
The presenter explained: “You know what, Kev and I, we were pals for such a long time.
“And I had such respect for him. You know, he’s so established in his world and just a real gent.
“So we were friends and then you win together, you have Christmas and January you think, ‘Where is he? I liked hanging out with him.’
“So yeah, it was much later down the line for us. We were pals for a long time”.
The pair are very supportive of each other but tend to keep their romance to themselves.
However, Kevin did post a rare tribute to his girlfriend earlier this month to mark her birthday.

He shared a clip of her dancing on the show on his Instagram.
Alongside this, he wrote in front of his 360,000 followers: “Happy Birthday to my beautiful girl @sjdooley.”
During her interview on the podcast, Stacey also opened up about why she decided to appear on Strictly.
She explained: “I’d been doing quite hard topics for quite a long time so for me Strictly was tempting because it felt like a form of escapism and it was celebratory and it was joyous.
“But it was still a classy show where you learnt a genuine skill and they’re the best dancers in the world.”
Stacey is taking part in Saturday Kitchen today as she joins Matt Tebbutt, Theo Randall and Vivek Singh for a chat.
As well as this, the presenter has a new series out on BBC Two called DNA Family Secrets.
This sees her helping people answer life-changing questions through the power of DNA.
