Tamar Braxton Is Receiving Backlash For Not Attending Her Late Niece's Funeral

There’s been a lot of tragedy and turmoil surrounding Tamar Braxton and her sisters. Last week her niece Lauren Braxton, the daughter of the sisters’ only brother Michael Braxton Jr., died unexpectedly at the young age of 24. And Tamar has decided that performing on her friend Kandi Burruss‘ arthritic sex kitten tour called Welcome to the Dungeon trumps paying her final respects to Lauren, and the internet is here to remind her that she can make money another time and she needs to be with her family now.

People reports that Tamar revealed in a recent story on her Instagram page that she was too drained to go to Lauren’s funeral.  Wearing dark sunglasses and a hat, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that Tamar looks like she’s been through it.

“I’ve been M.I.A. because I just cannot bring myself to post about my niece. Like, I just can’t do it,” she told her followers in the four-minute clip, which was captured blog YBF Chic. “But what I did want to say is I want to thank everyone for sending their condolences.”

“I don’t want my sisters or my family to get upset with me, but the things that’s been going on — this is the first time that anybody in my family has passed,” she continued. “Nobody tell you about going to the damn funeral. I don’t have time going to the funeral.”

Here’s the vid:

The internet felt the need to remind Tamar that nothing is more important than family and they subsequently blasted her for not attending Lauren’s funeral, with one person commenting “If you are so drained performing should be last in your mind. I will NEVER respect or support you if feel money & ppl watching you is more important than being with family that needs your presence.”. It was a sentiment many echoed but they must have forgotten that even though she may be drained, Tamar always has time for Clap Back Season.

After her initial explanation Tamar once again took to social media to get people all the way together by reminding them about the importance of shutting the hell up when you know not of what you speak.

In response to the backlash, Tamar spoke out on Instagram again — this time in a post on Friday, with a reshared image that read “PSA: Don’t tell people how to heal from something you’ve never been through.”

“…. and now you know the rest of the story ✨” the reality star captioned the photo, which spoke to allowing others to grieve in different ways.

Honestly, Tamar shouldn’t be too concerned with missing out on Kandi’s multi-city sex tour because she’ll probably be hosting those until she replaces her whips with walking canes.
