Tati Westbrook Just Spoke Out for the First Time Since the James Charles "Bye Sister" Video

To state the obvious for a second: This is not a great week to be YouTuber James Charles. Despite spending last Monday at the Met Gala, he walked right off the carpet and into a world of drama once his former close friend and fellow YouTuber Tati Westbrook called him out for questionable and inappropriate behavior in a 40+ minute video last week.

Since then, James has lost almost three million YouTube subscribers, and Tati has gained just as many. James has also been called out by Jeffree Star and Zara Larsson, and celebs like Kylie Jenner, Shawn Mendes, and Demi Lovato have unfollowed him.

While it’d be easy to bask and gloat in the aftermath of her video, Tati’s taking a super different approach. She tweeted Sunday night for the first time since the “Bye Sister” vid went live, but instead of bandwagoning on the James Charles hate, she essentially told the trolls to cool it a little.

“There won’t be a video tomorrow,” she started. “My heart is still too heavy. I feel like I need to remind you that we can hold truth & inspire change without grabbing onto hate. Honor your blessings, don’t abuse them. Celebrating pain will only bring it to your door. love you guys, see you soon.”

We stan a mature queen. 👏👏👏

So TL;DR, as easy as it is to send James Charles hate right now (and one glance at his Instagram comments shows it is VERY easy), Tati’s less hateful approach is undoubtedly the better one. So do that instead, k?
