BBC Radio 2 DJ Zoe Ball has taken to Instagram to bid farewell to one of the producers of The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show. The star, 50, issued an emotional goodbye to her BBC colleague Ricky Marshall, who she has worked with in close proximity for the last year, before revealing that she and the “squad” turned up to celebrate his last day working on the popular radio show.

In view of her 612,000 followers, the star revealed that she and the rest of her BBC family gave her producer a proper goodbye.

She wrote: “Strong squad for @rickymarshall22 send off.”

The DJ added the hashtags, ” #countryboy #oldschool #radio2massive”, before continuing: “Wogan House won’t be the same without ya Kid”.

Zoe accompanied the caption with a series of snaps of the BBC gang.

Gathering for her producer’s farewell send off, the close-knit team cheered as they celebrated Ricky’s time working on the show.

Zoe herself was visible in the middle of the picture with her blonde hair worn in her signature tousled waves around her shoulders.

Ricky has a long history at the BBC, as he initially joined as a freelance broadcast assistant in 2004.

Four years later, he moved to Radio 2 where he worked with the likes of Terry Wogan, Chris Evans, Claudia Winkleman, and Alan Carr.

He then went on to produce the radio shows of Steve Wright and Jo Whiley, which saw him broadcast live from Glastonbury Festival.

After a two-year stint producing for Jo, Ricky went on to work with the likes of Mika, Patrick Lielty, and Ken Bruce, before joining Zoe’s breakfast show last year.

However, Ricky isn’t the only BBC colleague that the DJ has said goodbye to, as Zoe recently bid farewell to several members of the Strictly Come Dancing team during a live broadcast to listeners.

The radio legend confirmed earlier this year that she was departing from the BBC show’s spin-off programme It Takes Two, which she had hosted for a decade.

Former Strictly professional dancer Janette Manrara is set to take her place and co-host the show alongside Rylan Clark-Neal.

The DJ told listeners that she was attending a Strictly goodbye party and teased that she may not turn up for her show the next morning due to the festivities.

Zoe commented: “I’m off later to our It Takes Two goodbye party. Ian Waite, myself and some of the crew.

“Because some of us are moving on this year and we didn’t get a chance to say goodbye.

“So a bit of a shindig tonight,” she added.

The former It Takes Two host joked that radio presenter Ken Bruce may have to take over her hosting duties.

Zoe chuckled: “So Ken Bruce might have to hold the reins for me. Or I will just bring them all with me.”

Zoe and her It Takes Two co-star Ian Waite announced their exits from the Strictly spin-off show in May.
