Kate Middleton and Prince William attended The Sun Military Awards in December 2011, just months after their wedding. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a gorgeous black dress.
The royal stunned in a sultry black look. The royal has only worn the dark hue on a few occasions during her royal career.
This was such a night. The royal wore a black velvet gown, clinging to her form.
The strapless dress featured ruffled tulle on the bust and a wide trumpet skirt.
The dress was by a favourite of Kate’s, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
It was a customised version of the Strapless Velvet Gown from the brand, which also created Kate’s wedding dress.
The dress originally cost £3,995. However, Kate’s custom dress is likely to have cost more.
Kate wore the look with jewellery from her personal collection, said to be a wedding gift, from Mouawad.
The necklace features diamonds and rubies rendered in a floral design.
She wore matching earrings and a cuff.
She wore it with the Jimmy Choo Cosmic Pumps and a black velvet clutch bag from Pretty Ballerinas.
