Jane The Virgin fans rejoice! A true love story has come out of the show—Gina Rodriguez, 34, who plays Jane Villanueva, married her longtime boyfriend Joe LoCicero, 32, on Saturday.
The announcement came via an Instagram video Gina posted Monday morning. “May 4th, 2019 was absolute MAGIC,” Gina wrote in the caption (after she thanked everyone who helped make the wedding possible). “To my husband Joseph, I am yours forever.” Can I get a collective “Awwww”?
Clearly Joe and Gina are crazy in love, but uh, who is Joe LoCicero anyway? Here are the deets on their romance.

LoCicero played a stripper on Jane The Virgin when he and Gina first met.
LoCicero is an actor himself, and played a stripper on Gina’s hit show in 2016. He appears in the episode “Chapter Thirty-Nine” as a Don Quixote impersonator/stripper who comes to perform for Jane as a bachelorette gift at a very inopportune time. You can see the clip below.
Rumors started to emerge that the two actors were dating shortly after. LoCicero has also acted in indie films like Welcome to Willits and Spaghettiman. His most recent project is a movie on Amazon Prime called Cop Chronicles.
They’ve been engaged since summer 2018.
The couple confirmed the news in August, about a month after talks of an engagement first started swirling when Rodriguez posted photos of the two cuddling on her birthday with a noticeable ring addition.
Rodriguez joked to People that they were going to elope so they wouldn’t have to deal with the stress of wedding planning. But, based on the wedding video below, they definitely decided to go the more traditional route.

He’s actually an MMA fighter.
When he’s not acting, LoCicero is training for Muay Thai competitions. He’s earned his fair share of amateur titles and Gina often shows up to watch and support him in the ring. No wonder he’s so ripped!

He’s continued to appear on Jane The Virgin.
Since that fateful stripper episode, LoCicero has returned as the same character, this time impersonating Prince Charming for Jane’s mom Xiomara’s bachelorette party in Season 3. And he’ll apparently be back in Season 5 as well—but you’ll have to wait and see what type of character he’ll be impersonating this time (a groom, perhaps?).
