Inside Rio and Kate Ferdinands luxurious family Christmas trip to the Maldives

Rio and Kate Ferdinand have given a glimpse inside their luxurious family Christmas trip to the Maldives with their adorable children.

The former England footballer, 43, and ex-TOWIE star Kate, who recently admitted that the struggle of balancing work and family life could be overwhelming at times, whisked their family away to the Maldives to make 'memories to last a lifetime'.

Kate, 30, who shares one year old Cree with wife Kate, 30, and is a stepmother to Tate, 13, Lorenz, 15, and Tia, 10, from Rio's marriage to his late wife Rebecca Ellison, shared a look inside their dreamy trip with her 1.4million followers.

The stunning mum looked gorgeous in a collection of beach outfits as she coordinated with her children for walks on the powder white sand.

Kate looked elegant in a red and cream beach dress with a fedora hat layered over a red bikini as she held hands with her son Cree in adorable matching shorts.

Elsewhere Kate and her husband Rio looked every inch the happy couple as they posed with a backdrop of palm trees on the beach.

Kate displayed her sensational figure in a plunging navy bikini and cream fedora hat with a navy ribbon while Rio laughed as he looked up at the sky.

It appeared that the family-of-six made the most of the scorching temperatures as they swam with sharks in the crystal clear waters before taking bikes for a trip around the island.

Kate, Tia and Cree looked gorgeous as they all donned turquoise tones for a trip to the beach with the sweet little one holding hands with his mum and sister.

Meanwhile Kate also shared a candid snap of Lorenz and Tate soaking up the sun as they rested on the poolside in the sun and soaked up the view.

The new mum also looked stunning in a brown silk cut-out dress with oversized shades as she posed on the beach ahead of an evening out with Rio.

Kate shared the collection of snaps to her 1.4million followers, captioned: "Grateful for the most fabulous holiday with my special family, memories to last a lifetime."

Rio also shared a glimpse inside his time on the idyllic island as she worked with Football Escapes to train youngsters in the sport.

The ex-Manchester United star shared a snap with the budding footballers on the beach, captioned: "What a trip with @footballescapes out in the Maldives with the kids.

Loads of goals, fun & laughter! Lots of new friends made too. The parents were possibly more competitive than the kids at times in the challenges but we had a laugh. Can’t wait to go back and thank you to the people of the Maldives too for your kindness."
