Martin Lewis explained the clever way to save up to £20 at Lidl when shopping in store. Speaking on The Martin Lewis Money Show: Live, he said lucky customers will get the offer when using the Lidl app.

The financial expert will regularly share his savvy advice with members of the public.

After a short break from the small screen, he returned tonight with his best tips.

Martin gave advice to those struggling to deal with the financial impacts of the coronavirus.

The expert also told viewers about an offer that is currently available in Lidl.

When visiting the discount supermarket chain, Britons can get an automatic saving of £5.

They will earn this by signing up for the Lidl app, which has just launched.

When visiting the store, Britons will be able to use the voucher if they spend £25 or more, Martin said.

He commented: “You can get £5 off a £25 Lidl spend if you go onto the Lidl app, sign up and register for it.”

As well as getting an automatic voucher, some shoppers could be set to save even more money.

When using the app, shoppers are given a scratch card and they have a one in five chance of winning prizes.

“There’s a little saving on the Lidl app if you have a little time,” Martin quipped.

“It also gives you a digital scratch card where you can win more too.”

The prizes available from the scratch cards range from 25p to £20 to spend in-store.

Those who use the app will also get weekly coupons, earning even more savings.

These are available as part of the Coupon Plus app feature, which gives shoppers savings based on how much they spend.

For example, those who spend more than £200 in a month will get a £10 off coupon, subject to terms and conditions.

Speaking of the app, chief executive at Lidl GB Christian Härtnagel said: “Our customers know that we offer the best quality products at market leading prices.

“We’ve designed Lidl Plus so we can provide an even better, tailored, shopping experience for our customers, as well as to thank them for their loyalty.”

The app is available to download on the App Store or Google Play.
