‘Selling Sunset’ star Mary Fitzgerald calls out Christine Quinn on ‘flat-out lie’
How the ‘Selling Sunset’ cast is getting in ‘show shape’ for Season 4
The feud continues.
“Selling Sunset” co-stars Christine Quinn and Chrishell Stause were seated away from each other at the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards: Unscripted to avoid any drama.
Mary Fitzgerald exclusively told Page Six that the seating arrangements at the inaugural event were due in part to the tables not being “big enough,” but she also confirmed that there’s still “friction” brewing between her castmates.
“There was some friction, so they probably didn’t want to have anything happen,” Fitzgerald, 40, said in a new interview. “It was probably for the best. Chrishell and Christine just try to stay away from each other.”
Stause, 39, previously claimed on social media that Quinn, 32, had arrived to the award show “late” after a fan called out the cast for not taking pictures with the new mom.
However, in past episodes of the Netflix reality show, Stause made it clear that she wasn’t interested in a friendship with Quinn because the Texas native once commented on actress’ divorce from Justin Hartley to the press.
Last July, Quinn exclusively revealed to Page Six that Stause and Hartley, now 44, had gone to therapy prior to their 2019 split, which prompted the soap star to call out Quinn online.
Fitzgerald acknowledged to us this week that there is a “divide” amongst the cast members. She and Stause often hang out with Amanza Smith and Heather Rae Young, per social media, while Quinn is seen more often with Davina Potratz.
That said, Fitzgerald shared that avoiding Quinn wasn’t difficult amid the pandemic since Quinn had been pregnant, and most of the women didn’t visit their office due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“Unless we made an effort, some of the girls didn’t come to the office, so we haven’t really had to interact that much since filming,” she said.
However, after Quinn gave birth to her first child with husband Christian Georges Dumontet earlier this month, Stause claimed on social media that she had extended an olive branch and sent a gift.
Fitzgerald told Page Six she has also tried to “take the higher road,” despite Quinn claiming on TikTok that her former BFF didn’t like her pregnancy announcement post.
“I know that she goes to the press and says that I haven’t, but I congratulated her on her pregnancy,” she insisted. “I congratulated her on the birth of her baby. I sent a baby gift over to her, so I’m just trying to, you know, handle it maturely, and you guys will see on the show what actually has happened. I’m just trying to handle it and stay above.”
Jason Oppenheim, the real estate group’s boss, added, “I’ve reached out to her and Christian to congratulate them, of course, and we’re on fine terms.”
When contacted for this story, Quinn declined to comment.
Netflix has not announced a release date yet for Season 4 of “Selling Sunset,” but sources said it is expected to be released sometime at the end of this year.
