McDonald’s is combining two of Britain’s favourite takeaway dishes – katsu curry and chicken nuggets.

The fast food giant is preparing to launch Katsu Curry Chicken McNuggets in time for the new year.

Its new menu item hits restaurants on December 30 – and you can order them at drive-thrus and via takeaway services too.

The spiced nuggets will only be available for six weeks so you’ll have to be quick if you want to try them.

You can get a packet of six for £3.59 or a nine-pack for £4.09.

Alternatively, go all out by ordering a sharebox of 20 nuggets for £5.99.

The fast food chain introduced new rules when the UK's new tier system was introduced.

McDonald's UK chief executive Paul Pomroy said: "The measures and procedures introduced since we reopened in the summer are regularly and robustly assessed by third party organisations to make sure our employees are able to work and you are able to visit safely.

"We have worked hard to ensure our restaurants can continue safely serving you and I am grateful for the support so many of you have shown as we have adjusted to these procedures."

In tier 1, restaurants are open for walk in take away orders until 11pm, delivery and drive-thu as normal.

Dine in options are running in these areas until 10pm and punters must follow the rule of 6 and use table service only.

Rules in tier 2 are the same – except customers can only eat in with members of their own household or support bubble.

In tiers 3 and 4, dine in services are not available for customers.

These punters should use drive-thrus and delivery options instead.
