DEAR DEIDRE: MY wife spends every evening at a friend’s house where she and mates practise yoga. Meanwhile I and our two daughters aged three and five miss out.
My wife is 26 and I am 28 and work full-time.
Even if she is at home, she is on her phone constantly – with the same friends she spends all evening with.
She said I could check her phone if I wanted but it is not what I want.
I want her with me and our family, even if we are just watching TV.
I know she is with the girls before and after school and preschool but I am not with her then.
DEIDRE SAYS: Tell her you are worried that you are losing touch with one another. TV doesn’t cut it.
Ask her to join with you in making alternate evenings quality family time, when you first play with your daughters together, jointly settle them, then eat (you cook) and talk together.
Suggest she teach you yoga so you can share that at home too and you will better understand how great it can make you feel.
