Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their baby boy into the world yesterday—or, as the palace put it, Meghan was “safely delivered of a son.” Yay! And as you may have noticed, Harry has already gone into full dad mode—appearing equal parts blissfully happy and exhausted during a quick video interview. But apparently when cameras turned off Harry told reporters that he was running on almost zero sleep. Direct quote, per ITV: “I’ve had about two hours’ sleep.”
Harry and Meghan will be introducing their baby to the world on camera tomorrow (get excited, mark your cals, etc!), and until then royal reporter Omid Scobie says that they’re “quietly enjoying private time at Frogmore Cottage with their new son,” and that “their first night as a family of three was peaceful and emotional.”
It will be a quiet day in terms of announcements but tomorrow’s photo call is not far away. Until then, Harry and Meghan are quietly enjoying private time at Frogmore Cottage with their new son. I’m told their first night as a family of three was peaceful and emotional.
In his video announcement, Harry confirmed that Meghan and the baby are in good health, saying “I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I can ever have possibly imagined. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support of everybody out there. It’s been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.”
