The white/gold, black/blue dress thing made us all realise that we all see things differently.
But recently, a woman showed that sometimes it’s not us, but a glitch in the system that makes things act up.
Reddit user Megzies1997 shared an image and a video of a jumper that appeared to completely change colour when under different lighting.
The item of clothing – which is actually camo green in colour – seems to be grey in one room but as the poster walks into another, it changes into purple.
At first Redditors thought the whole thing might be a Photoshop scheme and demanded a video.
The clip then confirmed the colour-changing trick and viewers were shook.
If you want to understand the scientific reason for why this occurs, there is a perfectly valid (albeit a little complicated) explanation.
The change is due to colour rendering index – a quantitative measure of the ability of a light source to reveal the colours of various objects faithfully in comparison with a natural light source.

The original poster wrote: ‘My shirt appears to be two vastly different colours in different lighting.
‘I bought it as a camo green colour and that is what it appears like most of the time!
‘In the warmer lights it looks more brown though!’
Redditors replied to the post with plenty of scientific explanations.
Others got flashbacks of the whole dress thing.
‘Not this s*** again’, wrote one person meanwhile another said: ‘Nope! Not getting involved in another colour debate’.
‘Here we go again,’ commented another.
A third user quipped: ‘I hate when I put black pants on in the morning and find I’m wearing navy blue pants later in the day.’
