    GUNNERS TURN TO JAPANESE

Arsenal are working on a deal to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna, according to The Athletic.

The Japan international can play both centre-half and right-back, with the latter a position Arsenal are keen to strengthen.

Arsenal are not the only Premier League club to show interest in Tomiyasu.

Tottenham also enquired about the 22-year-old earlier in the window, but their pursuit of Emerson Royal looks to have opened the door for Arsenal.

Tomiyasu made 31 Serie A appearances for Bologna last season but has featured just once this term.

Hector Bellerin’s potential exit from Arsenal to Real Betis would help free up space for the arrival of Tomiyasu.

    STRIKE PAIR TO REMAIN

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are set to stay at Arsenal beyond the transfer deadline.

Reports had suggested the pair could depart the Emirates, with Aubameyang linked with Juventus and Lacazette with Barcelona.

However, according to Football London, the duo will now remain at Arsenal.

Aubameyang is of higher value to the Gunners but they will not entertain any offers unless it's 'astronomical'.

Aubameyang’s current deal runs until 2023, while Lacazette has one year left on his contract.

    MAITLAND-NILES STAYING PUT

It’s not been a great few days for Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

After seeing his move to Everton blocked, the Mirror reports that the star has been told he won’t be allowed to train with Arsenal’s first team.

The England international is desperate to join the Toffees and took to Instagram to make his feelings known.

“All I want to do is go where I’m wanted & where I’m going to play @Arsenal,” the 24-year-old wrote.

However, it appears Maitland‑Niles will now be staying put and has also been banished to train with the Under-23s.

    ARSENAL WANT AOUAR

Arsenal remain keen on Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Aouar has been a long-term interest of the Gunners and Football London claim Mikel Arteta’s side have again enquired about a deal for the 23-year-old.

Arteta had been coy on the transfer front last week, saying: "We don't know.

"We've already done a lot of things – ins and outs – I think it’s 16 or 17 deals in total, with some renewals, which is a lot.

"There are still some things to do in the last few days because there are still some questions marks and deals that can happen, but we will see."

    THE BELL TOLLS

Arsenal star Hector Bellerin is reportedly set to complete a transfer deadline day move to Real Betis.

The La Liga club are set to land Bellerin, according to football.london reporter Chris Wheatley.

After failing to feature in any of Arsenal's opening three games, it appeared the writing was on the wall for Bellerin.

Betis are Bellerin's boyhood club and the connection to the La Liga outfit runs in his family.

Bellerin has said previously: "My first shirt was Betis because my father was a fan of the Verdiblanco team. It was difficult for me to support another club."

    WILLIAN FAREWELL

Arsenal flop Willian has taken to Instagram to thank Gunners fans after he agreed a deal for his contract to be terminated.

He said: "I would like to thank Arsenal for the opportunity they have given to me and for the warm welcome received by everybody at the club.

"Unfortunately things on the pitch didn’t go the way we had all planned and hoped, I received a lot of criticism especially from some members of the press that I had come here for financial reasons… I hope with my actions today explain to those people and they now understand that was not the case.

"I hope it teaches some people that they should not be so quick to pass judgement and create bad environments to make themselves important even though I accept that’s part of the game."
