Barcelona could offer Andre Gomes and Samuel Umtiti for Alexandre Lacazette

BARCELONA could attempt to sign Alexandre Lacazette by offering Arsenal Andre Gomes and Samuel Umtiti, reports in Spain suggest.

Nou Camp chiefs are still searching for a striker to provide support for Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi and Atletico Madrid hitman Antoine Griezmann is still their No1 target.

Having rejected Barca last season the Spanish champions are looking at other alternatives to Griezmann and Mundodeportivo report Arsenal forward Lacazette is an option for the La Liga champions.

It is suggested the Gunners could be offered on loan Everton midfielder Gomes and defender Umtiti to help lower the cost of the £60million rated Lacazette.

With the departure of Aaron Ramsey to Juventus next season Gomes would be a welcomed signing.

While Unai Emery has been deprived of centre-back options this season meaning Umtiti would also be a relevant signing for Gunners chiefs to look at.

Barca director of football Eric Abidal is understood to be a close friend of the French striker with the pair sharing an agent, David Venditelli.

Arsenal signed Lacazette from Lyon in 2017 for £46.5m and after a patchy first season the Frenchman has hit the ground running this term netting 18 times.

It is believed Nou Camp chiefs have not opened any negotiations with Arsenal over the transfer of their No9.

It comes after Lacazette admitted last month he “could be happier” in North London.

He said: "I'm happy when I play, necessarily, like any player, when I'm on the pitch, of course, there is joy, on the field and off, I keep smiling, smile to life.
