Buccaneers’ flight delayed more than 7 hours ahead of Panthers game

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers hit a pretty big snag ahead of their Week 10 matchup in Charlotte.

A mechanical problem with the team’s plane caused a delay of more than seven hours on the evening before their NFC South showdown against the Panthers

The game is slated to take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

According to ESPN, the original flight plan was to depart from Tampa at 2:25 p.m. on Saturday and arrive at Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 3:55 p.m. The team sat on the tarmac for five hours before boarding a new plane that departed at 10 p.m. and landed at 11:27 p.m.

The Buccaneers (6-3) will attempt to bounce back against the last-place Panthers (3-6) on the heels of an embarrassing 38-3 divisional loss to the Saints last Sunday night. Brady, 43, completed 22 of 38 passes for 209 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions in his worst loss of his career.

Tampa defeated Carolina in their first meeting back in Week 2 by a score of 31-17.
