Erling Haaland next club odds – Chelsea favourites to complete transfer after 'player-plus-cash' offer

CHELSEA are favourites to sign Erling Haaland.

That's despite Borussia Dortmund rejecting the club's first 'informal proposal' for the Norwegian superstar.

The Blues have prioritised the signing of a centre-forward this summer in their quest to muscle in on the Premier League title.

And Haaland is their No.1 target.

The explosive forward scored 41 goals and provided 12 assists in 41 appearances last season.

The 20-year-old also finished as top scorer in the Champions League and was crowned Bundesliga Player of the Year ahead of Robert Lewandowski.

Haaland is wanted by several European heavyweights but Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea have delivered the first blow.

Sky Sports claim Chelsea proposed an informal player-plus-cash offer that included either Tammy Abraham or Callum Hudson-Odoi in part exchange.

But Dortmund rejected the deal and are determined to retain their prized asset – especially with Jadon Sancho leaving for Manchester United.

A source close to the situation is claimed to have told Sky Sports: "Chelsea are trying but it is going to be very difficult.

"At the moment it looks like mission impossible. It is unlikely but that doesn't mean it can't happen."

Other reports have claimed that Chelsea are prepared to pay upwards of £150million for Haaland this summer.

That's more than double his £70million release clause that comes into effect in the summer of 2022.

Another obstacle to any deal for Haaland is that his agent Mino Raiola is looking for a commission of £34.2million to broker the deal, say Sky in Germany.

Manchester City are their closest challengers at 3/1.

The Citizens are looking to replace Sergio Aguero, who joined Barcelona on a free transfer, but Harry Kane appears to be their priority.

Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona are next in the market at 5/1 and 8/1 respectively – although their financial capabilities are in question.

Manchester United are priced at 9/1 with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich available at 10/1 as they seek a long-term replacement for Lewandowski, 32.

Juventus and Liverpool complete the eight-runner field at 14s and 20s.
