The most decorated women’s swimmer in the world will return to the Olympics with the chance to continue to build on her already impressive resume.
In fact, at this point, most view her as a cinch to come away with some, if not all, the gold medals in events in which she competes.
The last time Ledecky was in Rio, she won four gold medals, set two world records and took home a silver medal to boot. Now, she enters the Tokyo games with 11 individual World Aquatics Championships gold medals and four individual Olympic gold medals, the most of any women’s swimmer.
At just 24 years old, she is just a year older than Michael Phelps was when he set the men’s record for eight gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, so she is certainly well in her prime and will be ready for a big encore performance to 2016.
Sporting News has you covered with how to watch the greatest women’s swimmer of all time add to her legacy.
Which events is Katie Ledecky swimming?
Ledecky has dominated the distance freestyle events throughout her career. Her personal best time of 1:53.73 in the 200 is just under a second below the record of 1:52.98, set by Italian swimmer Federica Pellegrini in the 2009 World Championships.
