ITV drama fans have been keeping a close eye on Olivier (played by Michiel Huisman) in Angela Black. Olivier’s wife Angela (Joanne Froggatt) has been desperately trying to leave him after suffering abuse at his hands. However, the situation has grown more complicated ever since the appearance of a mysterious character named Ed Harrison (Samuel Adewunmi). Could Angela soon take down her husband and have him jailed for his crimes?

*Warning: Spoilers for Angela Black to follow*

Samuel Adewunmi, who plays Ed in the series, recently opened up about the dramatic journey Angela embarks on.

In an interview with Express.co.uk and other press, the actor explained what he hoped audiences would take away from the series.

“We hope that people that maybe have gone through this sort of experience can feel seen and feel heard and not feel so alone,” he explained.

Samuel continued: “Hopefully you know that you’re not alone and there are ways out.

“Hopefully people can take strength from the character of Angela as well and her plight,” he added.

As Samuel mentioned that he would like to see people “take strength” from Angela, this could indicate the character will gain the courage to leave her abusive husband and go to the police.

Perhaps she will gather some evidence against Olivier in a bid to get him arrested for his crimes.

Viewers have been sharing their own theories about Angela’s situation on Twitter, with some suggesting she should secretly record Olivier or take photo evidence.

@WiththeMoles suggested: “She should record him with her phone when he’s in a bad mood… Just in case he hits her… #AngelaBlack.”

“I’d have my phone on record at this stage!! #AngelaBlack,” @cernusson remarked.

“I don’t understand, as soon as she heard he was trying trick her into being an incompetent mother for a divorce. Why didn’t she take a pic of the bruises before they faded or file a police report get something on the record? #angelablack,” @tamsee13 said.

Regular viewers know that Angela’s been cautious of contacting the police ever since Ed told her Olivier has killed another woman in the past.

Ed convinced Angela the only way to escape her abusive husband is to murder him herself.

However, things took a turn when their plan was scuppered and Angela was arrested by police.

Now she’s landed herself in trouble with the law, will Angela turn to alternative methods to get justice?

Joanne Froggatt, who plays Angela, has hinted her character will start to “rebuild” after hitting a low point.

“She almost has to fall apart to rebuild herself back to where she’s supposed to be,” the actress explained.

This could mean after being arrested, Angela may become more determined to take down her husband and gain the courage to bring him to justice.

She could attempt to record a video of Olivier the next time he turns violent on her.

If she’s successful, Angela could take the footage to the police and prove she’s the real victim in the relationship. Will Olivier soon land himself in jail?
