Bachelor fans furious after Clayton Echard's trailer 'spoils' top two finalists weeks before season premiere

BACHELOR fans are furious after a trailer for Clayton Echard's season of the show revealed his top two finalists ahead of the show's season premiere.

The trailer was posted online early this week, first by The Bachelor's Twitter account and then by a Bachelor fan account.

In it, Clayton introduces himself to viewers before glimpses into the season ahead show.

The clip features several dates — and kisses — as well as what appears to be a dramatic moment from one of the final episodes.

The latter is causing a fan frenzy online, as it appears that Clayton's top two are revealed in the clip as he confesses to the women: "I want to be fully, fully transparent and I know it's not easy to hear, but I was intimate with both of you."

The trailer shows both women storming away in tears.

It also shows a confessional with Clayton in which he sobs as he admits: "I'm so broken."

Many fans seemed to ignore the drama in the trailer in favor of questioning the network's decision to reveal the finalists ahead of the premiere.

One Twitter user wrote: "Okay so I wasn't crazy. They did just air Clayton's top women. Is the season so horrible that you can only show the top three for 'suspense'??? Wtf???"

On Instagram, a commenter wrote: "whyd they literally give away the final 3"

Another Twitter user questioned: "What even was the clip of Clayton season like i know the whole ending now."

A second Instagram user commented on the clip: "production spoiling the F3 just so people would be intrigued enough to watch this season.. cause WHY WOULD YOU ANNOUNCE THAT AROSE CEREMONY OMG."

On Twitter, another user wrote: "West Coast feed of #TheBachelorette don't watch the Clayton season preview it's straight up hella spoilers like did they give away the final three??????"

Fans of the Bachelor franchise have had many disappointments in regards to this season.

The announcement that Clayton would be the Bachelor was a spoiler in itself.

He was originally invited to appear on Michelle Young's season of The Bachelorette.

Clayton was still on the show when ABC announced in September that he was the next Bachelor.

He was eliminated after the fact in a dramatic mid-date dumping.

Fans called him "fake" and "dull" with one writing: "This obvious attempt to play up Clayton left me nauseous the entire episode. Boring as hell and so contrived."

Clayton was compared to Colton Underwood.

While fans didn't like him, Us Weekly previously reported: "Clayton stood out right off the bat.

"Producers ended up going with him because they believed he was the best fit for the role.

"They wanted to switch things up and go with someone new and someone who hasn't been in the spotlight yet."

Clayton comes from Eureka, Missouri.

He played football for the Missouri Tigers before being drafted by the NFL.

Clayton signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2016.

E! News spotted him filming The Bachelor in mid-September – before the season of The Bachelorette on which he was a cast member aired.
