Coronation Street star's mum rushed to hospital after 'serious' accident

Coronation Street’s Kimberly Hart-Simpson has revealed that her mum is in hospital.

The actress, who portrays Nicky Wheatley in the ITV soap, took to social media to share the news with her followers, explaining that her mum had been involved in a ‘serious’ accident.

‘Perspective,’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘This week online it looks like a wonderful life.

‘Reality; it is – but it’s fragile. Mumzy had a serious accident and between Keeping up appearances, hospital visits and the dogs asking what’s for dinner I haven’t had time to feel festive or reply to you all thanking you for your kind words on this week’s post.

‘But I appreciate you.

‘There is this nurse on the ward who comes in singing to her patients dancing giving it big beans at all times.

‘And I know that she is trained to save lives but it’s like she injects life too.’

Kimberly also posted a picture of her mum’s hand in hospital. She captioned it with: ‘To the woman that carried me. Your turn.’

It was revealed earlier this week that the soap star would be reprising her role in Corrie, with a source telling The Sun that mainstay Daniel Osbourne’s world would be ‘rocked’ by Nicky’s comeback.

‘She was there for him in his darkest hour after Sinead’s death, but he didn’t think he’d ever see her again,’ the source claimed.
