Catherine Tyldesley has hinted she could return to Coronation Street following her departure in 2018.
The 38-year-old actress was Monday’s guest on Lorraine, where presenter Andi Peters took over the show from the Good Morning Britain studios, and he couldn’t help but ask the former soap star whether or not she would be back on the cobbles.
‘Of course,’ Catherine enthused.
‘You know what never say never, I’m really enjoying doing lots of different things at the moment.
‘Next year luckily is already looking quite busy for me after baby, but never say never because Corrie is such a special place and it was my second home for seven years and I adore everyone there.
‘The writers are incredible so, never say never.’
Catherine announced in October that she and her husband Tom Pitfield are expecting a baby girl.
Sharing the news, Catherine told Hello! Magazine: ‘We feel so lucky. When we found out, I just burst into tears…
‘Tom was in bits when we found out we are having a little girl. He has suddenly gone all mushy. I’m sure she will have him wrapped around her little finger.’
Catherine’s character Eva had been involved in some hugely gripping storylines, and her baby bombshell sparked a dramatic chain reaction.
Eva found out that she was pregnant with Aidan Connor’s (Shayne Ward) child (for real) and gave birth to a daughter, Susie, nine months later.
As she didn’t want the baby, Eva struck a deal with Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) to pass her off as hers and Peter Barlow’s (Chris Gascoyne) child through a surrogate.
Toyah later had second thoughts on the agreement after Susie was born, having seen how much it was hurting Eva to be separated from her baby. Eva then moved to France to live with her mother Stella Price (Michelle Collins)
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
