Coronation Street’s Gemma distracts fans with make-up blunder during boozy lunch

Coronation Street fans found themselves distracted by Gemma's makeup during Friday night's episode of the ITV soap.

Gemma had been bonding with Jenny and newbie Sharon at the bistro before she was called away by an urgent Chesney, who told her Joseph was in trouble.

She seemed pleased to have the time to bond with Rita's foster daughters after Sharon's arrival was initially fraught with tension, as Jenny clearly didn't trust her.

But fans were more concerned with how Gemma had done her makeup, and took to Twitter to raise their concerns.

"Could someone sort out Gemma's blusher, it's very distracting?" one fan wrote.

Another posted: "Gemma looks a bit weird."

And someone else chimed: "Gemma looks more and more like a pantomime dame."

"How pink are Gemma's cheeks? Calm down with the makeup love!" another distracted viewer said.

But another dubbed the mum-of-four a "style icon", with someone else writing: "Sharon, Jenny and Gemma getting along awww."

Gemma was quickly summoned away from the table by boyfriend Chesney, who shared the news that Hope had attacked Joseph.

"Gemma legging it cos she doesn't want to pay her share of the bill!" one fan giggled.

The troubled youngster had "put his arm in a sling" after hearing the upsetting news that her dad Tyrone was moving out – and she was fretting that it was her fault.

"Hope lamped Joseph one […] she might have broken his arm," Fiz informed her ex in a tense public exchange.

Tyrone had been rubbing his new relationship with Romanian beauty Alina in Fiz's face – and slipped up by posting photos of their romantic night away to the family photo account.

Some viewers were fretting about the whereabouts of Gemma's quads, having not seen them for a few episodes.

"So Gemma is at the sister party, Chesney is at Fiz's, so who is looking after the babies?" one fan wondered.

Another wrote: "Who's minding the quads? Gemma's in the pub and Chesney's in Tyrone's house!"

And someone else said: "Who's looking after the kebab girl's babies? Not heard them yelling in ages."

Later, Chesney argued with Tyrone in the street, calling him a "lying, cheating scumbag" when Tyrone attempted to shift the blame for Hope's behaviour on Fiz.

Elsewhere in the episode, Aadi had viewers impressed as he delivered a socially-distanced punch to baddie Corey.

"The first SD'ing punch in Corrie yes Aadi I heard that!" one viewer typed.

Another penned: "That was an awesome punch!"
