Coronation Streets Sarah Platt grows scared over Damon harassment

Coronation Street: Daisy and Ryan have heart-to-heart in hospital

Fans know Sarah (played by Tina O’Brien) cheated on her husband Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) with Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths).

While the long-term Coronation Street character has since made it clear she wants nothing more to do with Damon, he keeps showing up and taunting her.

Official spoilers from the ITV soap indicate she might have to take drastic action as Damon refuses to stop goading her in front of Adam.

Could Sarah perhaps try to get the ex-criminal back behind bars in a desperate attempt to get rid of him?

In scenes set to air, Adam books a table at the Bistro for his birthday, and Damon offers to throw in a bottle of Champagne.

Will Sarah be able to mask her unease around her husband?

Later, Sarah and Adam are enjoying a celebratory lunch at the Bistro when Adam reveals to Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) there could be a problem securing a late licence because some of the locals have raised objections.

Meanwhile, Damon arrives and joins the pair at their table, leaving Sarah squirming.

Later, Maria accidentally lets slip Sarah was among the locals to have raised concerns about the late licence.

Viewers know this is an attempt to quash Damon’s idea, but when a furious Nick and Adam confront Sarah about it, she’s stuck on what to say.

Damon, on the other hand, enjoys her discomfort. How will Sarah turn this around?

Sarah later speaks her mind to Nick and Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), telling them their late licence idea is terrible.

Nick calls at the Rovers and tells the residents there will be a meeting in the bistro to air their opinions on the late licence, but when Gail Platt (Helen Worth) asserts she has no objection to it, Nick’s left baffled.

He informs his sister Sarah their mother has no objection to the late licence and wonders why she lied.

With the meeting to discuss the late licence about to start, Nick and Leanne are puzzled about where Damon has got to.

While Brian Packham (Peter Gunn), Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) and Ken Barlow (William Roache) fire awkward questions about noise pollution at Nick, Leanne tries in vain to get hold of Damon.

Could Sarah have called the police on Damon, who just narrowly escaped a prison stint after his lawyers managed to keep him out of jail for recent crimes?

Perhaps she decides in future episodes she will have to play dirty to keep him out of her life by setting him up for a crime he hasn’t committed.

She might believe it’s the only way to save her marriage – but will her secret still be exposed soon?

Coronation Street continues on Friday at 8pm on ITV.
