Last week John Whaite and his professional dancer partner Johannes Radebe found themselves at the top of the leaderboard after their incredible Pirates of the Caribbean inspired Paso Doble. However there could be an upset on the cards this weekend as new data has hinted he is losing favour amongst Strictly Come Dancing viewers. And, after Dan Walker made a few mistakes in his Foxtrot, he could find himself up against John.
The remaining celebrities will perform for the fourth time on Saturday evening as Strictly Come Dancing is now well underway.
John and Johannes will be performing a Waltz to Hero by Mariah Carey and will hope the emotional routine will tug on the heartstrings of viewers.
Meanwhile Dan and professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova will perform the Cha Cha Cha to U Can’t Touch This/Superfreak by MC Hammer/Rick James.
While John was top of the leaderboard with 39 points and Dan was near the bottom, both could face the dreaded dance-off.
New data collected by MediaWorks has suggested the pair will be forced to perform on Sunday’s results show.
The digital marketing agency has used its sentiment analysis tool to see which stars the viewers are getting behind.
Sentiment score places a value on the emotion displayed in each tweet and attributes a score to the post, where individuals can score between -10 and 10, where -10 is extremely negative and 10, the maximum, is extremely positive.
Sentiment scores are awarded to each celebrity every week based on the most recent tweets.
Interestingly, despite his Paso Doble success, John seems to have fallen out of favour with fans.
Unfortunately it seems viewers angry about a male same-sex pairing could set their sights on ensuring they are eliminated next.
From October 2 to October 14, John sentiment score dropped from 1.5 to -0.4.
On the other hand, Dan’s sentiment score has remained pretty low dropping from 0.3 to -0.3.
Meanwhile, Tilly Ramsay has shot up in the viewer’s opinion and now holds the highest sentiment score.
On October 2 she had a score of 1.3 but 12 days later soared above the competition to 3.6.
Could rumours of a romance with Nikita have sparked a surge in interest in the duo?
AJ Odudu, who also sparked romance rumours with Kai Widdrington last week, is in second place with a score of one.
This weekend will see fewer couples compete as Robert Webb dropped out of the competition with Dianne Buswell.
Robert, who had heart surgery two years ago, explained the series had put pressure on his heart and he couldn’t continue.
On Thursday, Ugo Monye revealed back problems have meant he will not partake in Saturday evening’s live show.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One at 7pm.
