Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard)’s wedding planning is already firmly under way in Coronation Street, with the bride-to-be getting excited about the details – dress, flowers, wedding favours.
Daisy wants an Instagram-worthy wedding and she fully intends to use her social media skills to make sure she scores as much free stuff as possible so she can have the day of her dreams.
Elsewhere in the Street, poor Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell)’s wedding dreams have recently been put on hold after Chesney (Sam Aston) told her he’d spent the wedding fund on his new burger venture.
Obviously Ches is hoping that his new business will reap rewards in the long term, but meanwhile Gemma is faced with having to take on more and more child-minding duties to try to make up the money again.
When Paul (Peter Ash) arrives at the house and finds Gemma surrounded by kids he’s concerned at the toll the pressure is taking on his sister and her relationship with Chesney. he says he’d like to chip in and pay some of the wedding costs, on the condition that they stop arguing.
Gemma and Chesney are over the moon with this news and decide to go ahead and book everything. They go to the Rovers to tell Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) they’d like to book their wedding reception for May 8.
Jenny has some disappointing news – Daniel and Daisy are getting married on that day, too.
Will Gemma and Chesney drop their plans? Will Daisy and Daniel be forced to reconsider theirs?
Or will it be a double wedding for the two happy couples?
