LEGENDARY British actor Bob Hoskins was snubbed by EastEnders, according to a former co-star.
Cheryl Fergison, who played Albert Square favourite Heather Trott, says the late star wanted to play her on-screen father but had his hopes dashed by bosses.
Cheryl said: “I went to a charity event and Bob Hoskins was there.
“He said he would love to come in and play my dad for a few episodes.
"I went up to the EastEnders head office and said, ‘This is the truth, last night I was here and Bob Hoskins said…" and they didn't take it up!
"I just thought, ‘Oh my god, how wonderful would that have been if for a few episodes Bob Hoskins popped in and out of Heather's life?’ That would have been good.”

Bob died in 2014 aged 71 after a four decade career in Hollywood.
During his glittering career he starred in huge films like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Mermaids and Hook.
But it wasn’t just Bob who fancied a turn as Heather’s dad.
Speaking in the new episode of Soap From The Box podcast out tomorrow, Cheryl says the late Lionel Blair also declared an interest in the role.

The character of Heather is no more, after she was killed off in 2012 at the hands of a young Ben Mitchell.
But Cheryl revealed last month that she's so keen to return, she "pitched" a brand new storyline to soap bosses in a bid to get her iconic character back on the soap.
The actress – who played the role from 2007 until 2012 – said: "On the show I had a mother, she was pretty nasty and she used to sell babies with Aunt Babe in the caravan in Southend.
"Now, what if she had twins and gave one away and kept Heather and now Heather's dead and I could come back as the same actress but playing her twin.
"I could come back with baby George and carry that on."
