EastEnders newcomer Sue Holderness teases fiery Billy and Honey love triangle

Only Fools And Horses star Sue Holderness says it is a thrill to play a flirt on TV at the age of 70.

The actress is set to appear on EastEnders as Billy Mitchell’s new love interest, Estelle.

Sue – best known for playing Boycie’s wife Marlene, right with Del Boy, in the legendary BBC sitcom – said of her new role: "She was so much fun to play –she’s just out to have fun!

"I am 70 and I think it’s important that on TV we see older people that are still up for flirting and having fun!

"It’s good to show that none of it stops when you get old, life goes on and can still be just as much fun as when you’re in your thirties."

Sue continued: "Just because we’re grandmas doesn’t mean we can’t be great fun."

Posh Estelle is a theatrical agent who arrives in Albert Square to oversee a photo shoot with Billy (Perry Fenwick) and his ex-wife Honey’s daughter Janet.

And it soon becomes clear that Honey (Emma Barton) is not a fan.

Sue laughed: "There’s certainly an antagonism there for both of them, they’re looking daggers at each other so it was great to play the underlying tension."

Kush, played by Davood Ghadami, got unexpectedly murdered after getting himself mixed up with the Mitchell family and offering to help the police in taking the Albert Square gangstas down.

He was murdered in the train station on Monday evening, falling to his death as he waited for Whitney Dean and Arthur to return from the loo.

The couple had planned to run away to Dubai together, deciding on a new life abroad – as far away from the Mitchells as possible.

Jealous over his relationship with Whitney, serial killer Gray Atkins (Toby Alexander Smith) appeared from behind a wall, and launched a verbal attack on Kush.

He eventually jumped into the path of an oncoming train, but when Kush tried to save his life, Gray retaliated by shoving him onto the tracks.
