Emmerdale spoilers: Vanessa Woodfield returns and stops Nate Robinson from seeing daughter Frankie

FANS predicted it but Vanessa Woodfield's return will only be official in the New Year.

Actress Michelle Hardwick is set to reprise her role in Emmerdale, which comes as bad news for Nate.

A regular on the ITV soap since her first appearance in 2012, Vanessa left the Dales in 2020 after being diagnosed with bowel cancer.

The news left her sister Tracy (Amy Walsh) and her fiancée Charity (Emma Atkins) devastated and although an operation was able to save her, she still needed chemotherapy.

Vanessa departed the village during the pandemic after it was revealed that she would be spending lockdown in Scotland.

However, she decided to stay put while Charity returned home, making the decision to take care of her mother (and convinced her fiancée was having an affair).

While her character was dealing with the aftermath of her cancer battle, Michelle was experiencing motherhood for the first time after welcoming her first child with her off-screen partner Kate Brooks.

In a Tweet revealed in June, 2021, however, Michelle teased her return to the ITV soap.

After some time away, Vanessa is all set to return to Emmerdale and will be giving Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) a hard time.

In an upcoming episode, expected on screens in January, 2022, the latter is kicked out by Tracy after he was caught cheating on her.

Unable to find refuge at Cain Dingle's home, Nate returns to Tug Ghyll to pick up his stuff and visit his ten-month-old daughter Frankie.

He is then confronted with a fuming Vanessa who turns him away, leading Tracy to believe that he made no efforts to see Frankie.

She soon finds out that Vanessa turned Nate away when she overhears a conversation with Charity.

Charity is then thrown when Vanessa tells her she is planning on staying in the village for good, leading the couple to argue over their adoptive son Johnny.

But what else could Vanessa's return entail and will Tracy forgive her for turning Nate away from Frankie?
