Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick shares adorable Halloween family snap with wife Kate and baby Teddy

We've been missing vet Vanessa Woodfield in Emmerdale since the popular character disappeared last year to look after her mother. Of course in real life actress Michelle Hardwick was going on maternity leave, to have baby Teddy, who turned one in October this year.

Since becoming parents, Michelle and her wife, the show's producer Kate Brooks, have treated fans to occasional photos of their gorgeous family, courtesty of Michelle's Instagram.

And a treat – not a trick – was definitely what fans got at the weekend, as Michelle released a Halloween photo of the trio dressed as Ghostbusters!

Perhaps taking their lead from Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig's 2016 reboot of the classic 1984 smash hit starring Bill Murray and Dan Ackroyd, the pair donned matching jumpsuits sporting the Ghostbusters logo – with a mini version for little Teddy!

And Michelle tagged her post with a clever pun, asking followers, Who ya gonna call? GhostBROOKSters! before adding the tags#happyhalloween #ghostbusters.

And their fancy dress outing was clearly just one of the Halloween activities enjoyed by Kate and Michelle, whose onscreen return is eagerly awaited by viewers.

Because just a week before the Brooks clan were pictured at a pumpkin farm, where young Teddy enjoyed riding in a wheelbarrow along with their haul of seasonal squashes!

The besotted star labelled her post 'Our cutest little pumpkin picker' And Teddy certainly posed up a storm alongside his mummies on the day out.

While Kate, Michelle and Teddy enjoyed their trip to the farm, Emmerdale viewers are waiting for Vanessa's return to the village, where Vanessa's ex partner Charity (played by Emma Atkins) has definitely moved on, and has recently been enjoying a fling with the village's new bad boy, Mackenzie.

But how will Charity feel when the woman for whom she finally let down her guard returns after more than a year away? Will a reconciliation be on the cards for the couple?

Although Michelle has been on an extended maternity leave, Kate has been back at work at Emmerdale's studios for a while, masterminding epic scenes like the Survival Week which recently thrilled fans with its drama and stunts.

Those episodes saw the demise of Andrea Tate, played by Anna Nightingale.

And filming the scenes in which Andrea met a grisly end thanks to serial killer Meena Jutla meant some careful planning and clever costuming, as Anna was pregnant at the time and is now awaiting her second child.

There will certainly be plenty of news for Vanessa to catch up on when she does return and learns what's been happening in the most dangerous corner of Yorkshire ever.
