First Dates star Fred Sirieix set to appear in new Gogglebox series with fiancée

Channel 4 have signed up First Dates star Fred Sirieix to feature in the spin-off show Celebrity Gogglebox.

The charming French maitre d' will be appearing alongside his fiancé Fruitcake in the latest series which is set to start airing on June 10.

Although his partner has often kept herself out of the limelight, she's decided to join him on the sofa for the show.

The 50-year-old told The Sun he was "delighted" to be in the latest line-up of stars for Celebrity Gogglebox.

As his own show, First Dates, has been featured on Gogglebox plenty of times over the years, he called it "very surreal" that he's now taking part.

Fred said: "I am looking forward to the public getting to meet the wonderful Fruitcake too.”

The Channel 4 star hasn't spoken much about his Jamaican partner that will be joining him on the sofa but he has shared photos of them together on Instagram in the past.

Before his current partner, he was with his ex Alex for 12 years whom he has two children with, Andrea, 17, and Lucien, 12.

Fred and his partner are the final names that have been added to the Celebrity Gogglebox line-up which has had a shake-up this year.

Replacing Denise Van Outen's ex Eddie Boxhall is her close friend Duncan James.

Although singer Anne Marie has sat alongside both Ed Sheeran and Tom Jones in the past, her new partner – her sister Samantha – will now be joining her.

Others taking part in the celebrity series includes Strictly winners Oti Mabuse and Bill Bailey, Nick and Liv Grimshaw, Rylan and his mum Linda Clark and Melanie C and her brother Paul.

The new line-up comes after regular Gogglebox stars the Baggs family announced they were leaving the show after three series.

First appearing on our screens in 2020, the Essex family have decided to call it a day on the show due to other work commitments.

Issuing a joint statement, Dad Terry, mum Lisa and sons Joe and George teased future projects when revealing their departure.

The statement read: "After three incredible seasons on Channel 4’s Gogglebox we have taken the decision to leave the show. We have loved every second of being part of the Gogglebox family and it’s truly been the opportunity of a lifetime.

"With lots of exciting opportunities approaching for us all, we just couldn’t commit to filming another series, but are so grateful for the opportunity."

Gogglebox is available on All 4 and airs Fridays at 9pm
