Game of Thrones fans ‘want eighth season remade’ as thousands sign petition

Fans of Game Of Thrones have started a petition to get the eighth season remade, after sharing their disgust at how it has panned out so far.

Thousands believe that show creators David Benioff and DB Weiss have 'rushed' the final episodes and laid to waste the intricate storytelling that has dominated previous seasons.

A petition has been created on Change.org with fans demanding that the eighth season is rewritten because the epic fantasy drama "deserves a final season that makes sense".

So far, more than 54,000 people have signed, with the petition demanding writers, "subvert expectations and make it happen."

The petition comes after the latest episode drew criticism from some viewers, who questioned Daenerys Targaryen burning down King's Landing.

One person who signed the petition said: "I understand it's GOT but don't trash 8 yrs of character building for what they think will shock and awe us. It sucks."

Another wrote: "They shouldn't have rushed the ending of this series. You owe it to yourselves and the fans to do this generation defining story justice."

The final instalment of the series will see who finally gets to claim the Iron Throne, with a number of characters that can make a justified case for being the one who rules over the Seven Kingdoms.
