Game of Thrones prequel news: George R.R. Martin spin-off series starts filming

Game of Thrones season eight marks the end of the HBO series.

The show has been on the air since 2011 and has been a global phenomenon.

It was revealed that there would be a prequel series and that George R.R. Martin is writing the new series.

It has since been revealed that the Game of Thrones prequel series is filming as planned under the name Bloodmoon.

There had been reports that only a pilot of the prequel series would be released in order to see whether viewers like it or not.

However, those claims have since been reported to be untrue.

A source told The Sun on Monday night: “Thrones fans will be delighted to hear things have started with the prequel.

“Those working on the set in Belfast are referring to the series as Bloodmoon.

“Producers have put together a stellar cast, and it will be must-watch telly for anyone who loves Game Of Thrones.”

It uncertainty over the show’s future came after HBO boss Bob Greenblatt hinted that he “didn’t know” what would happen to the spin-off.

“There’s a prequel in production, but just a pilot so that we can see if it has all the goods and is it worthy of going forward,” he said.

In an interview with Deadline, he added: “We’re just trying to be really thoughtful about how to expand this universe if it makes sense, and not, like I said, kill the golden goose.

“We’re having conversations about how do we smartly continue the Game Of Thrones universe.

“But we have to be really thoughtful about not killing the golden goose and not putting on shows that aren’t up to that quality level and how many is too many.”

He continued: “We’re having all those conversations. I don’t know yet what will come of all this material.”

However, he did confirm that the pilot was in the works and it had been announced that Naomi Watts had bee cast as the lead.

The prequel is yet to have an official name, yet there had been reports that it would be called The Long Night.

However, after episode three of season eight was called The Long Night, they might want to come up with something different.

Naomi will be starring alongside Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie and Denise Gough.

Game of Thrones continues Sunday on HBO in the US and the following day on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
