Gogglebox star Marcus Luther has revealed that some fans cannot help sending him a string of private messages via social media.
The star who graces our screens with his partner Mica has spoken of his newfound fame, admitting that his and Mica's private messages are often bombarded by an array of requests from viewers and their followers.
Marcus and Mica first appeared on the hit Channel 4 programme back in 2018 and have since become firm fan favourites with their witty reactions to the previous week's television.
Speaking about their fame ahead of the latest series that launches this evening, Marcus said: "My messages are always from grannies."
He continued: "My DMs [Direct Messages] are full of old women, it's alright though, the older the berry, the sweeter the juice."
These, however, aren't the only messages the pair received, with Marcus going on to add: "We get a lot of birthday requests too, I get a lot of kids that come on, cancer patients and so on, and it's nice to be able to say, 'Keep your head up and just keep going'".
Gogglebox shows all varieties of life from across England, something that brings joy to Marcus.
"That is what Britain looks like and people come to this country because it's multicultural, that's what Great Britain is," said the Londoner.
Marcus continued: "On Gogglebox it doesn't matter about your sexual preferences, it doesn't matter about your gender, it doesn't matter about anything — they'll take anyone, that lot, I don't see Gogglebox working on any other channel.
"Remember Desmonds? That was the first black sitcom, and that was on Channel 4 in 1989."
Mica interjected, adding: "It's important to see people who look like you because there are days when you don't have that much hope.
"Sometimes in the black community there can be this thing of, 'I can't do this because I'm black.'"
She believes that it is a positive move to be more inclusive as it allows viewers to learn about other cultures and ethnicities.
Away from Gogglebox, Marcus can be found keeping in shape at TM Boxing Gym in London where he works as the Head Boxing Coach.
His job entails training the most talented fighters, including Mica's older son Shiloh Defreitas – known as Sugar Shy.
Shiloh who is up and coming in the boxing world even won a gold medal for Team England at the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas in 2017 at the age of 18.
Gogglebox airs tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
