Home Alone's Marv Murchins star Daniel Stern is unrecognisable 31 years on from legendary Christmas film

JUST over three decades ago, Daniel Stern appeared as the hilarious burglar Marv Murchins in 1990 Christmas classic Home Alone – and he looks completely unrecognisable these days.

With Christmas now just days away, many will be opting to watch their favourite festive flicks, with Home Alone at the top of the pile.

The family film tells the story of a rambunctious eight-year-old who has to protect his house from two burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during the Christmas holidays.

Daniel, 64, played Harry's criminal accomplice, Marv Merchants, and was on the pursuit to rob the family home blind.

The star of stage and screen rejoined the cast of the film for Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

Since then, he continued working as a voice actor and narrated the hit series The Wonder Years until its finale in 1993.

Before Home Alone, he appeared in other movies including Stardust Memories, Hannah and Her Sisters, and City Slickers.

Now, he's continued to act as well as direct and write.
