I'm A Celebrity's Vernon Kay says Paddy McGuinness has promised to 'spend a fortune' to see him eat sheep’s testicles

VERNON Kay thinks he'll be eating "a sheep's knackers" on I'm A Celebrity if Paddy McGuinness has his way.

He told The Sun the comic had promised to "spend a fortune" on voting for his pal to take part in the disgusting eating trials on the ITV show.

Vernon, 46, is heading to North Wales – where the livestock is plentiful – and is under no illusions about what is in store for him having seen past stars eating grisly animal guts and insects.

He said: "When I was rumoured to be in the show I got a message from Paddy McGuinness wishing me well, but he said 'pal I'm going to spend a fortune making sure you eat the sheep's knackers.'"

But the former Family Fortunes host won't be screaming "get me out of here…!" insisting with a dash of "salt and pepper" he can eat practically anything.

He said: "I've always had the attitude of 'bring it on' whatever comes your way. You've got to face the challenge, there's no backing out, you're on national television!

"You've got to stick your chest out and put your chin up.

"If it is eating sheep's testicles you've got to eat them and maybe add a bit of salt and pepper.

"The one thing I'm really worried about is not having any food because I like eating and eating a lot. I've always consumed a lot of calories.

"I've always got a full tummy, I never go peckish so that's the one thing I'm scared about."

Vernon is a well known face on the box and voice on the radio, thanks to his long career as a broadcaster.

He lives with his wife Tess Daly and his kids in an impressive home in Buckinghamshire.

The dad-of-two currently hosts Formula E racing on Channel 5 and YouTube, after Family Fortunes ended in 2015.

He denied he's making a showbiz comeback by going on the primetime show.

He said: "I've always been open to the public, I've been on telly for 20 years.

"I've never put any pictures of me kids so that's not changed. Maybe Tess will put a picture up of me, but nothing else has changed. It's not like I'm going on This Is Your Life."
