JEREMY Kyle Show fans are furious that the show has been axed following the tragic death of Steven Dymond.
The show was pulled off air on Monday as broadcast bosses worked frantically to come up with a final decision on its future.
But ITV has now permanently scrapped the programme, which ran 3,320 episodes over 14 years, after uproar from Mr Dymond’s loved ones and horrified viewers.
However the news left many fans of the show outraged, with one writing on Twitter: "How can @ITV cancel The Jeremy Kyle Show?
"I feel sorry for the person that lost their life and his family but at the end of the day people go on these shows knowing what they are facing .. you shouldn't go on the show if you arent prepared to be called out on your own lie. Shame."
Another added: "F*** @ITV ruined my daily morning routine cancelling Jeremy Kyle now haven’t they kmt."
A third tweeted: "I’m literally so sad that Jeremy Kyle show has been axed."
Meanwhile a fourth agreed, writing: "jeremy kyle has been axed i’m so f***ing sad."
Carolyn McCall, ITV’s CEO, announced the news today, saying: “Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.
“The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.
“Everyone at ITV's thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond."
But some TV viewers viewed the news as positive.
One wrote on Twitter: "Jeremy Kyle show axed?? About f***ing time. That show was just about harassing people.
"Sad that someone died as a result of appearing on the show though."
Another added: "Jeremy Kyle should have been axed years ago, we need to move on from Prole Porn."
While a third wrote: "Jeremy Kyle getting cancelled is a good thing. It had inevitably toxic ramifications."
