Actress Sarah Rich stars in the brand new indie thriller #Like, available to stream now on Prime Video and YouTube. Following her feature film debut, she spoke to Express.co.uk about her upcoming projects, including a supporting role in Netflix’s upcoming YA drama, Purple Hearts.

Rich will star alongside Nicholas Galitzine as Luke and Sofia Carson as Cassie in the streamer’s upcoming musical film.

Fresh from her debut film performance as Rosie in #Like, as well as appearances in shows like Law and Order and The Blacklist, Rich landed a major role in the film’s supporting cast.

She told Express.co.uk: “I just finished a supporting role in Purple Hearts.

“It’s a Netflix Original, so I’m really excited about that.”

Purple Hearts is set for release at some point next year, though Rich was unable to give an exact date.

“It just wrapped,” the star confirmed. “What I was hearing was [it will be the] end of next year.”

As filming took place throughout the summer, it’s expected post-production will take it into the second half of Netflix’s 2022 release window.

The upcoming film is based on Tess Wakefield’s 2017 novel of the same name.

The story follows Cassie, an aspiring singer-songwriter who agrees to marry Army trainee Luke out of convenience.

Cassie and Luke eventually fall hopelessly in love, though their relationship is put to the test when tragedy strikes.

Tony nominee Kyle Jarrow and Liz Garcia wrote the script, and the film is co-directed by Ben Lewin and Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum.

Rich’s co-star Carson is best known for her roles in Disney’s popular Descendants series of films, as well as the Pretty Little Liars reboot, The Perfectionists.

In the meantime, film fans can get a preview of Rich’s acting ability in #Like, in which she stars alongside Ozark regular Marc Menchaca.

From debut feature director Sarah Pirozek, the film follows Rich as teen Rosie, who kidnaps Menchaca’s unnamed character when she suspects he was responsible for her sister’s suicide.

Previewing her role in the film, she said: “It definitely seemed like this actor’s dream.”

“This juicy piece of steak that you’re like, ‘I can’t wait to really sink my teeth into this.’”

#Like handles some complex themes, including sexual assault, revenge and how we accuse those we believe to be guilty of horrendous crimes.

“It’s questionable, at times, whether her actions are justified,” Rich explained.

“But I always tried to make them justified, which is really in a state of trying to get vengeance. So how far will you go?”

#Like is available to rent or buy on YouTube, Prime Video, Rakuten TV, iTunes and Sky Store.

Law and Order: SVU season 23 continues Thursdays on NBC.
