Line of Duty fans are now convinced that newcomer DC Chloe Bishop could be a corrupt officer after spotting a number of strange mistakes she made during Sunday's episode.
During the latest instalment of the BBC drama, DC Chloe Bishop and DI Steve Arnott decided to move solicitor Jimmy Lakewell from prison to the police station in the hope he would reveal some information to him.
But as the convoy of armed police sped back to AC-12, they were ambushed by the OCG who put spikes out to pop their tyres, leading to a dramatic shoot out.
Chloe and police officer Jonesy rushed to help Steve and Jimmy who were trapped in the crashed van, but as she helped her to get into the turned over van, Steve spotted a sniper, who shot Jones dead.
The hard work to save Jimmy was all in vain, as he was later taken back to prison and brutally murdered in his cell after discovering corrupt officer Ian Buckells in there before being strangled by criminal Lee Banks.
But during all of the commotion, viewers couldn't help noticing that Chloe's behaviour before the ambush seemed very off, as she seemed to look at the van well before it came speeding towards them.
Fans took to social media to predict that Chloe is the bent officer in AC-12, as Hastings and Arnott quickly realised that someone must have leaked that Lakewell was being moved.
One fan asked: "Something I noticed in the episode is that the sniper had a clear shot of Chloe and her team but never took it, also when they mentioned a leak coming from Blackthorn Chloe suggested it may have come from AC12 instead (maybe trying to deflect them away from looking into Blackthorn), is she bent? What does everyone else think?"
Another spotted: "And lakewell called her Chloe not dc bishop!"
A third chipped in: "I'm starting to believe Chloe is def bent, she was the one that spotted the van during Lakewelks transit too, and fact that she was unharmed is a bit suspect."
A fourth said: "Chloe also the only one wearing a red jacket! So she could be identified (and spared) but the sniper and OCG maybe?"
A fifth agreed: "She looked dodgy in the car before the ambush, like she knew something was going to happen."
A sixth wrote: "The sniper had a clear shot of Chloe and didn’t take it and she tried deflecting attention away from Blackthorn as well as putting that officer in a position to get killed."
Could Chloe have been the one who leaked Lakewell's movements to the OCG and set Jones up to die?
Many other viewers have been suspicious for weeks that she could be the secret daughter of DCI Tony Gates, who had a daughter named Chloe back in series one.
Fans of the show will remember he had a young daughter in the series, which was set over a decade ago, and she may have decided to follow her late father into the police.
Looks like there is a lot more to the budding new DC than meets the eye…
Line of Duty continues on Sunday at 9pm on BBC.
