'Little People, Big World': Amy Roloff Opens Up About Considering Plastic Surgery

Little People, Big World star Amy Roloff recently released her highly anticipated new book, A Little Me. Many LPBW fans are discussing the portion of the book that dives into the reason she and Matt Roloff got divorced. Amy says that it all started when her husband started spending more time with their farm manager, Caryn Chandler.

“Then it dawned on me. Matt and our farm manager, who had been working for us a number of years by then, seemed to have more than just a working relationship or friendship,” she wrote. “I saw messages, pictures, and other things that should not have been shared between people who just worked together and were still married to other people. I was devastated.”

Another topic Amy wrote about in her autobiography is her struggle with her body image. Being a reality TV star, Amy says she felt especially in the public eye and scrutinized. She even considered getting some plastic surgery.

“I still sometimes struggle with body image, especially as I get older,” the Little People, Big World star wrote. “When my body started to go south, I’ll admit, I thought about getting some sort of plastic surgery to give the old body a little lift.”

She continued: “After doing reality television for fifteen years and seeing so many women having it done, I guess it’s no surprise that it crept into my mind.”

Amy wrote about how she was worried that plastic surgery would become a slippery slope. She said she could see herself starting small but eventually wanting to get more and more work done.

“We are inundated with countless images suggesting that we need to change this or that to look better, more beautiful, and to get more out of life,” she writes. “I’m defying those odds because I believe I already have all that without changing my body.”

So glad I got to come home and visit w/ my Mom and Dad. Waiting to hear if she gets to come home today. She’s ready and tired of hospital food, that’s a good sign ?.Her heart is weak though and she gets tired easily but her mind is sharp. The transition of slowing down and not doing all she’d like to do will be hard. Just need to appreciate the moments, what she can do and the days that are left. Thank you to everyone that so thoughtfully thought of me and my parents and for all your prayers. So kind and I so appreciate it. ❤️. I love this place, their house and the lake and coming back while it’s still here. #seasonsoflife #allaboutfamily #lovemyfamily #michiganisalwayshome #amyroloffssecondact #pacificnorthwestishomenow

Amy Roloff’s autobiography explores many of the reality star’s personal ups and downs. Overall, though, a message of hope and positivity shines through.

“Life is full of seasons; nothing stays the same,” she wrote. “Like a tree in autumn, the leaves have to fall so new growth can come back and start over again in the spring. Life may feel daunting, but at first everything does until you take a step forward. I’ll admit, being on a new road at this point in my life and being a little person, figuring out my new normal, is a little daunting. But a challenge is upon me, and I’ll rise to the occasion because I have a lot of life still to live.”
